A voice assistant that answers your store's visitors out loud about products, shipping and orders, day and night.

== Description ==

PhoneSupport adds a "Talk to us" button to your WooCommerce store. Visitors tap it and ask their question out loud, right from the browser, as if they were on the phone. An AI voice assistant answers in a natural voice using your store's own information.

= What the assistant knows =

* **Your catalogue and pages.** Scan your site with one click: products, prices, stock, pages, shipping zones and payment methods become the assistant's knowledge. Turn on the daily refresh to keep prices and stock up to date.
* **Your instructions.** Upload PDFs with FAQs, price lists or store policies and the assistant follows them in every call.
* **Your customers' orders.** Optionally, customers can ask where their order is. Signed-in customers: their last 10 orders. Other visitors: one order, after they type its number and billing email in the widget (the same check as the WooCommerce order tracking form). Orders are used only for the duration of the call, and addresses, emails, phone numbers and payment details are never shared.
* **Add to cart by voice.** When a visitor asks, the assistant adds the product to their cart (asking which size or colour for products with variations). Visitors still review the cart and pay on their own. You can turn it off in the settings.

If something isn't in your store's information, the assistant says so instead of making it up.

= Email summary =

Optionally, the assistant offers visitors a written summary of the call by email. The visitor chooses whether to type their address in the widget or say it to the assistant, who reads it back to confirm. When the call ends they receive what they asked about, with links to the products and pages mentioned and, if you like, the full transcript. Replies go to your store email, and you can get a copy of every summary. The address is deleted once the email is sent.

= What you control =

* The voice (dozens of natural voices, with a preview), the language, the welcome message and custom instructions.
* Call recording: keep transcripts and/or audio for 7, 30, 90 or 365 days, or keep nothing. Every recording can be played, read and deleted from the dashboard.
* The button's position, colour and label.

Visitors are always told that they are talking to an AI assistant and whether the call is recorded.

= Pricing =

PhoneSupport is a hosted service. The plugin is free; the conversation time is provided by the PhoneSupport service:

* **Free trial:** 10 minutes after you verify your email, no card required.
* **Subscription:** $29.90 a month, or $299 a year (2 months free), with 100 minutes included every month.
* **Top-ups:** 100 minutes $19.90, 200 minutes $29.90, 1000 minutes $129.90. Top-up minutes never expire and are used while the subscription is active.

Optionally, turn on **automatic top-up**: when fewer than 10 minutes are left, the top-up you choose is charged to the card on your subscription, up to a monthly limit you set (1 to 10 times). You get a receipt and an email each time; if a charge fails, automatic top-up pauses and you're notified.

Payments are handled by Stripe. When the minutes run out, the button hides itself.

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate the plugin (WooCommerce must be active).
2. Go to **WooCommerce → PhoneSupport**, enter your email, accept the Terms of Service and the Data Processing Agreement, and click **Activate PhoneSupport**.
3. Enter the 6-digit code we email you: the 10-minute trial starts and the call button appears in your store.
4. Pick a voice, click **Scan site** and, if you like, upload PDFs with your instructions.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does it work on mobile? =

The button works in modern browsers that support microphone access over HTTPS. Your site must use HTTPS.

= Which languages does the assistant speak? =

English, Italian, Spanish, French and German. It starts in your site's language and answers visitors in the language they speak.

= Is it GDPR compliant? =

PhoneSupport acts as a data processor on your behalf under a Data Processing Agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) that you accept when you activate the service. Visitor IP addresses are stored only as hashes, and the assistant never receives customers' addresses, emails or payment details. Remember to mention the voice assistant in your site's privacy policy.

= What happens if I cancel the subscription? =

The button is hidden. Unused top-up minutes are kept for one year: if you subscribe again within a year you get them back.

= Can I move the plugin to a new site or domain? =

Yes. Keep the API key shown in the dashboard and enter it on the new site to keep your subscription and credit.

== External services ==

This plugin connects to external services to work. Nothing is sent before you activate the plugin from **WooCommerce → PhoneSupport**.

= PhoneSupport service (Digital Innovation Studio PLT) =

The plugin's backend at https://api.phonesupport.app manages your account, credit and calls.

* **When you activate:** your email address, your site's URL and site language are sent to create your account and send you a verification code. If you tick the optional box for product news, your email, site and language are also added to our mailing list on Brevo (https://www.brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy/); you can withdraw consent at any time.
* **When you save the settings:** your store name and store email are sent, to be used as sender name and reply-to address of email summaries.
* **When you scan your site or upload a PDF (and daily, if you turn on automatic refresh):** the text of your published products, pages, shipping zones, payment method names, store address and contact email, and of the PDFs you upload, is sent so the assistant can answer with it.
* **When a visitor starts a call:** the visitor's browser connects to the service and streams microphone audio for the duration of the call. The service receives the visitor's IP address (stored only as a hash) and, if the orders feature is on and the customer is signed in, the customer's first name and last 10 orders (number, date, status, products, total, shipping and payment method, tracking, store notes). If the orders feature is on and a visitor who is not signed in types an order number and the billing email in the widget, your site checks them and, only if they match, sends that one order (same fields) to the service for the duration of the call. The number and email themselves are not sent to the service. When the assistant adds a product to the cart, the visitor's browser uses your store's own WooCommerce Store API; only the product name, quantity and result are sent back to the service. To let visitors resume a call after changing page, the service sends the last lines of the conversation, signed, to the visitor's browser, which keeps them only in that tab for 10 minutes and sends them back when the visitor resumes; the service does not store them.
* **When a visitor asks for an email summary (only if you turn the feature on):** the email address the visitor types in the widget or says to the assistant is sent to the service, which emails the summary through Amazon Web Services (Ireland) and deletes the address after sending.
* **When you open the dashboard:** your account status, settings, call list and recordings are loaded from the service.

= Phonic (voice AI, used by the PhoneSupport service) =

The PhoneSupport service relays call audio, the store information needed to answer and the conversation to Phonic (https://phonic.ai), which provides speech recognition, the AI response and speech synthesis. The plugin does not connect to Phonic directly.

= Stripe (payments) =

When you subscribe, buy a top-up or manage invoices, you are redirected to a Stripe Checkout or Stripe Billing page. Payment details are entered on Stripe and never reach the plugin or the PhoneSupport service. If you turn on automatic top-up, the PhoneSupport service asks Stripe to charge the chosen top-up to the card already saved on your subscription.

== Changelog ==

= 0.1.13 =
* When the order check in the widget fails (wrong number or email), the assistant now says so right away instead of waiting.

= 0.1.12 =
* Each call starts in the language of the page the visitor is on (voice and greeting), for example on multilingual sites with WPML or Polylang.

= 0.1.11 =
* Email summaries to the same address now follow the site's "calls per visitor per hour" limit instead of a fixed daily limit.

= 0.1.10 =
* Fix: adding to the cart a product whose variations use "Any" for an attribute (for example "Any Plug") now works.

= 0.1.9 =
* "Resume the conversation": if a visitor changes page in the same tab during a call, the button lets them pick up where they left off for 10 minutes, without starting over.

= 0.1.8 =
* During a call, links and site searches open in a new tab so the call keeps going, and the widget tells visitors that changing page in the same tab ends the call. Leaving the page asks for confirmation first.

= 0.1.7 =
* The assistant can add products to the visitor's cart when asked, including products with variations (can be turned off in the settings).
* Order details now include the price of each product.

= 0.1.6 =
* Visitors who aren't signed in can ask about an order by typing its number and billing email in the widget (requires the customer orders option).

= 0.1.5 =
* Optional consent to product news and offers when you activate.

= 0.1.4 =
* Prices are now in US dollars.
* Yearly plan: $299 a year (2 months free), with 100 minutes included every month.

= 0.1.3 =
* Call limits: free values for maximum call length (up to 15 minutes) and simultaneous calls (up to 100); up to 10 calls per visitor per hour.

= 0.1.2 =
* Call limits per site: maximum call length, calls per visitor per hour and simultaneous calls.
* The widget can be opened from a button on the page (window.PhoneSupport.open()).

= 0.1.1 =
* Email summary of the call, typed in the widget or dictated to the assistant.
* Links to the products, categories and pages the assistant talks about, in the widget and in the summary.
* Product categories included in the site scan.
* Optional automatic top-up when fewer than 10 minutes are left.
* The dashboard shows when a cancelled subscription ends.

= 0.1.0 =
* First public release.
